Excellence and innovation for the future: CUA 2024 comes to a successful close

On September 22, the 31st Chinese Urological Association Annual Meeting (CUA 2024) came to a successful close, followed closely by the whole industry. Participants used this excellent platform for lively exchange, which is of great importance for advancing urology.

During the conference, Prof. Hu Hailong of the Second Hospital of Tianjin Medical University presented a comparison of blue-light and white-light cystoscopy in his talk "Efficacy of a 4K HD LED blue-light cystoscopy system in the diagnosis of bladder tumors: a prospective, multicenter, within-patient controlled clinical study". The study, which used the Richard Wolf System blue, found that blue-light cystoscopy outperforms white-light cystoscopy in detecting bladder cancer at every stage, with a clear advantage in detecting carcinoma in situ. It also showed that blue-light cystoscopy significantly reduces recurrence rates.

System blue is currently the only fluorescence system for urology in China. Used with Hexvix®, bladder tumor tissue fluoresces red while normal tissue appears blue, so tumor tissue can be clearly distinguished from normal tissue and resected more safely. With 4K resolution and blue-light fluorescence, even tiny lesions are clearly visible, giving blue-light cystoscopy a higher detection rate than white-light cystoscopy.

CUA 2024 was a highly successful event that made a positive contribution to urology.
