This month, PDD blue-light endoscopy made major progress in China once again: the investigators' meeting for the Hexvix & blue-light endoscopy project was successfully completed, and the project now enters the clinical trial phase! The trial will be led by Prof. Li Hanzhong of Peking Union Medical College Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, with a total of eight hospitals taking part, including the Second Hospital of Tianjin Medical University, the Cancer Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, Peking University Third Hospital, Zhongshan Hospital of Fudan University, Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University, Hunan Cancer Hospital and Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University. Richard Wolf and Asieris Pharmaceuticals will provide support for the use of the System blue blue-light endoscope and Hexvix.
About PDD blue-light endoscopy
In the treatment of bladder tumors, early detection is a crucial factor. Richard Wolf has therefore been developing photodynamic diagnosis (PDD) for more than 20 years and has recently launched a new LED-based photodynamic diagnosis product, System blue。System blue. Used with Hexvix, it significantly increases the detection rate in the diagnosis of bladder cancer and improves the safety of surgery. Hexvix is a drug used for cystoscopic examination and diagnosis of bladder cancer, including papillary tumors and carcinoma in situ. With Hexvix, bladder tumor tissue fluoresces red, in clear contrast to normal tissue, which appears blue.System blueThe system components are perfectly matched to the photosensitizer, significantly improving tumor fluorescence and therefore the detection rate. The higher-contrast images make it easier to distinguish malignant from healthy tissue and give brighter, more natural images of the examined area, so that all tumors can be completely resected with a high degree of certainty.
