Surgical Techniques in Urology

The development of minimally invasive surgery has influenced urology more than any other discipline. Within a short time, it has given rise to many new surgical techniques for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia, urolithiasis and urothelial carcinoma.

Urology now offers several endoscopic methods for treating benign prostatic hyperplasia. Alongside the established transurethral resection of the prostate (TUR-P), minimally invasive procedures such as bipolar enucleation, thulium laser enucleation and green light laser enucleation of the prostate have emerged in recent years.
