Hexvix® with blue light cystoscopy – for precise diagnosis and treatment of bladder cancer
Hexvix® (hexaminolevulinate) combined with the Richard Wolf blue light cystoscopy system enhances the visual identification of bladder tumor lesions through photodynamic diagnosis (PDD), providing an integrated drug-and-device solution for the precise diagnosis and treatment of non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC).
After intravesical instillation of Hexvix®, tumor tissue shows a characteristic red fluorescence under blue light, in clear contrast to normal mucosa. This helps physicians find small, flat and carcinoma in situ (CIS) lesions that are easily missed under white light, and identify residual lesions during TURBT, improving the completeness of tumor resection.

In a Chinese bridging Phase III study, Hexvix® with blue light cystoscopy detected at least one additional bladder cancer lesion not seen under white light in 43.3% of patients, and further increased the detection rate of CIS.
Resect more completely
Blue light helps identify residual lesions easily missed under white light, improving the completeness of TURBT and reducing the risk of residual tumor after surgery.
Fewer recurrences
Clinical studies show that blue light cystoscopy-guided TURBT reduces the risk of recurrence in NMIBC patients and prolongs recurrence-free survival.
Longer follow-up
Long-term follow-up studies show that blue light cystoscopy reduces the need for repeat TURBT, bringing lasting benefits for the long-term management of NMIBC.
Hexvix®
From lesion detection to precise resection, clearer visualization helps make NMIBC diagnosis and treatment more precise.
