TEXAS Bronchoscope

A new generation of rigid bronchoscopes

The rigid TEXAS bronchoscope was developed by Richard Wolf in close cooperation with Dr. Garrett Walsh* for diagnostic and therapeutic bronchoscopy. The fully integrable telescope can be combined with 6 different bronchoscope tubes for ideal visibility and flexibility. The extra-large working channel allows forceps and instruments to be introduced easily, together or individually.

The TEXAS bronchoscope system is therefore ideal for a wide range of applications, such as tissue biopsy, tumor resection, foreign body removal and stent placement and removal.

The integrated telescope allows rigid tube intubation with a constantly good view, greatly simplifying the procedure. When auxiliary instruments are used, a separate channel protects the telescope perfectly from the instruments.

*Dr. Garrett Walsh is Professor of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Texas, USA

Advantages at a glance

  • View through the telescope integrated in the bronchoscope tube
  • 360° all-round view through the fenestrated, beak-shaped distal end of the bronchoscope tube
  • A constant view greatly helps intubation
  • Integrated irrigation channel to rinse the distal telescope lens if it is soiled with secretions or blood during the procedure
  • Telescope with integrated light cable in a separate groove, leaving the whole lumen free (large working channel)
  • Compatible with dedicated forceps and all forceps for combined use with flexible bronchoscopes (rigid and flexible technique)
  • Ideal for interventional applications such as bronchial stent placement
  • Easy switching between different bronchoscope tubes
